This study evaluates the knowledge, disposal, and local consequences of single-use plastics through the eyes of local people from two coastal communities in southern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Explore how local communities perceive and understand marine plastic which is negatively impacting on their key livelihoods such as tourism and fisheries. Learn about how rising living standards have allowed remote communities to buy more single-use plastic items but have left them with no adequate way to dispose of them.
