The team at Treaclemoon care about people and they care about the planet. It makes perfect sense then, that their products are PETA approved, vegan, and cruelty-free, and made with 100% natural extracts. And, naturally, they also use 100% Prevented Ocean Plastic™ in their bottles.
For the first in a new series focusing on our partner brands, we took the opportunity to talk to the UK-based company, one of Prevented Ocean Plastic™’s earliest adopters, and find out more about their hard work and what else they keep close to their hearts.
Prevented Ocean Plastic™ quizzed Treaclemoon’s Social Media Manager, Tilly Hughes, and her colleague, International Brand Manager, Ellie Debnam.
- Hello! Can you talk about Treaclemoon’s mission, including your approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility?
“At Treaclemoon, we truly care about our social responsibility and try to be at the forefront of change within the parameters of the industry. Treaclemoon care passionately about the environment, and we aim to make products that are kind to your skin, and kind to our planet which is why our formulations are all microplastic and paraben free. There are many things to be excited about within the world of sustainability. But what excites us more than everything is being able to reflect back on the year and know that choices we made as a brand not only physically make a difference to the environment but have given us knowledge to spread the message and hopefully set the bar for sustainable materials in mass grocery higher and higher through our actions.”
- Why did you choose to work with Prevented Ocean Plastic™?
“Being absolutely inspired by the plastic movement and movement towards using recycled plastic in mass production, we knew- as a business of shower gels in plastic bottles- that we could genuinely make a difference and Prevented Ocean Plastic™ were the most genuine partner to work with to make it happen. To know that every bottle of Treaclemoon shower gel made takes a plastic bottle away from entering the ocean drives us to continue to do our best as a brand. What a great incentive!
We know it means an awful lot to our customers too. Hence, why we have redesigned our whole core portfolio to highlight this claim. We know our customers are looking for products that look to support the environment as possible and we wanted to make this as easy as possible for them to spot.
And we would absolutely encourage other brands to work with Prevented Ocean Plastic™ as well. Not only is the material a fabulous one but the team at Bantam do all they can to help us to spread their positive message through first-hand images and content for social media that wouldn’t be possible for us to capture otherwise.“
- What’s your personal favourite Treaclemoon product?
“Personally, my favourite product is our ‘Brazilian Love’ shower gel. It smells delicious, like summer in a bottle! Although, our Spring limited edition, ‘Those Lemonade Days’, launched today, and I think it may just beat it slightly!“
- Finally, what’s the future for the team at Treaclemoon?
“Treaclemoon have currently prevented 3 million bottles from entering the ocean and we strive to make that 5 million by the end of 2023. A number that we are set on achieving and exceeding!“
Treaclemoon’s limited edition ‘Those Lemonade Days’ shower and bath gel is on sale from today! It is exclusively available from their website now before going in to stores soon.
Prevented Ocean Plastic™ is proud to work with the team at Treaclemoon in 2023 and beyond. Together we can continue to work at the forefront for change while setting standards, closing the loop of a circular economy, and doing something positive about ocean bound plastic.
